I started work on this unit about a year ago. It's gone through so many incarnations and it's still not done or complete. It's even crossed my mind to take it all apart and fold it into a massive, all-in-one system with the drum box and a few other parts. But for now, it works like this: the suitcase is divided into four sections. The top section houses a sequencing unit which acts as sort of a brain for my whole musical system. Two voltage sequencers send 8 steps of variable voltage to the other modules for unified, changing pitch control that can lock different parts of my system together melodically. Sort of. There are also 8 gate outputs that can set in various patterns to trigger drum sounds and other percussive elements, as well as gating on and off the outputs of other melodic components (mainly in triggering the pattern start/stop control on the drum box). |  |
